Noob intro: volvo 240 lq4 swap
Hi - just chiming in to introduce. New to anything with more than 4 cylinders and relatively new to wrenching in general.
I am currently working on a LQ4 swap into a 82 Volvo 242. The project is a pretty big undertaking given my abilities and experience so I'm lucky to have a help from friends as well as all the documentation from previous builds of this type.
So far, I have learned a lot. Lots more to do - fuel, harness/ECU, cooling and drive shaft to name a few. The engine is just about ready to be attached to mounts.

Been away for a while - project has been finished and driving for a while now and I also just did a ford 8.8 swap. I suppose these are getting quite common now? Now I'm looking at forced induction for the swap so I've come back to do some research. Anyways, here are more pics if people are interested:
Mount - ha - you can just buy these now:
Installed:
Steering shaft geometry modification to clear header:
DBW pedal:
"Stock-ish" exhaust routing:
All buttoned down:
crude but effective strut-tower brace
8.8 swap: Exploder long end of the axle needs to be shorted so both sides can use a short-side axle:
Make mounting tabs; upgrade rubber bushings to heims:
Drill axles to Volvo bolt pattern and use exploder rear discs:
Installed! With 3" driveshaft/1350 joints

Wiring
Just picked up a 92 240 and looking to swap a 4.8 (cost effectiveness) mated with a 4l60e. How did you handle your wiring harness and the electrical to get the car running? This is my first swap and I’m kinda in the dark
