Hi from Houston
Long time reader, first time poster... So, i was recently bought a LQ4 from a 2004 Yukon Denali XL 1500 for my 74 vette. It is complete with throttlebody and pedal assy and TAC/ECU. I am fired up about the build but get easily confused with the million different configurations that can be acheived, its almost like theres TOO many options! I have read the wiki page on LS blocks and it actually helped me to find the right donor vehicle, but definately no aftermarket help there... i am aware that i will need mounting hardware and an accy drive setup for clearance purposes, also i know that i need a different oil pan. the main hurdle for me right now is the intake manifold/ throttle body. i have bought the fast 102 intake manifold and it seems like i jumped the gun here because the DBW throttle body will obviously have to be replaced (3-4 bolt), i would like to keep the T/B DBW and that is where the fun starts... the ls2 90mm T/B's seem to have different electrical connections, and i dont even understand whats going on with the NW 102 T/B because it doesnt look like it has the TPS???? I am confuse. i would like to use the NW 102 but i am afraid that it will be more trouble than its worth, i have heard mixed reviews anyway! Please help, or just convince me that i should wake up and use the LS6 Intake T/B and fuel rails which can all be had for less than the FAST 102 alone!!! PS. the original reason for choosing the FAST 102 was because i plan to throw a Nitros Express kit at it and they are pre ported for just that.

im finishing up a c3 69 vette swap. 6.0 lq9 w cam and 4l80e swap. I made the mounts for trans and motor. as you can see it looks like it could have come with the motor in it stock. these are the original progress pics. I will snap some of the recent pics.
intake is ls2 w 90mm tb. stainless long tube headers. I got this swap figured out pretty much
im in Houston.

i have the harness and the TAC but it looks like if i go with the bigger ls2 T/B, the harness i have wont fit. i think the connections are different. GM changed alot of programing going to the LS2 for VVT and AFM... i am just suprised that i cant find a T/B in the size i want without splicing wires of buying a new harness!!!

unless you get a aftermarket specific built harness like from psi or techrods.
im at the point where I just pay for the plug n play harnesses built for what I need. I don't have the patience to rewire ansd mod stock harnesses.
less hassle for me and cheaper. cuz I don't use up my time trying to figure out the pins when I can be welding and wrenching

I agree, i have contacted the guy from ebay and he says that i can return the FAST 102, im out $27.00 for return shipping -lesson learned-. but free up $783.00 for a used LS6 intake T/B injectors and rails. a quick look around reviels i can get all of that for around $600.00 then i can get the correct harness adapter and still come in lower than the intake itself! BTW do you have a speed shop? i see your logo... I usually go to PowerFab on windfern and 1960.
