Hello Not new to site since i've been trolling for a couple of years getting info on these motors. As of yesterday, I officially own my first LS motor. I bought a low mileage LQ4 to put into my 86 Monte Carlo SS. I have been wanting one of these motors for quite some time to replace my tiring stock L69 305. Now the fun begins. It's on a stand, waiting to get stripped down, and put a few aftermarket items on there. I'm looking at getting a cam, new intake and tb, and long tube headers. I'm going to back it up with a T56 tranny, running highway friendly 3.73 rear, or possibly a little shorter gearing. I would like to be at the 500 rwhp mark. Sounds like it's doable from what i'm reading. At this point I want to run without boost. Maybe in a year or so i'll change my mind. I'll post pics soon.
