Default Cam choice

Have a LS2/6spd manual going into a '62 Vette. Would like the LS to sound like a small block, as much as possible but don't want to spoil the low rpm cruising on the highway. GM has a hot cam 88958770 and Comp Cams recommended a 54-416-11. Wondered if someone has experience with either/both of these cams and their ability to run at 1800 rpm on the highway and provide enough vacuum.
Thanks,
Gary

Our LS STAGE 1 224 224 .568" .568" 114
or LS STAGE 2 236 236 .602" .602" 114
are both great choices for ported and un ported heads
and have excellent street manors and broad powerband.

The 112 on the comp will proh want some steeper gearing and a small/converter.

Might wanna get a mod to move this thread for you so it will get more exposure. Good luck with your cam search, looks like you have about 100 to choose from!
