New guy, 5.3 Turbo Build Hey all, New to LS1-Tech!
A little about me.
24, Atlanta Ga, 1980 C10.
Ill be taking on the project of swapping out my BBC for an LS1 soon.
VERY new to the boost world, as my family and i are nitrous fanatics.
So this is what i want, and ill be asking A LOT of questions.
my wants.
5.3, turbo, 600 rwhp.
I have talked to a local junkyard and found a combo!
5.3, tranny, PCM, and wiring harness for $1,500.
Im back and fourth with that price... or should i opt for the 6.0L same deal, $2,000... Im on a budget, but if i have to spend a little, i will suck it up and do so.
I want a street truck with potential for down the road. 600 Horsepower is the goal, should i chance the stock bottom end? Like i said, I'm a noob when it comes to boost and I'm just getting my feet wet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As far as turbo goes, I've been back and fourth with twins, or just a single 76mm...not sure. Im fairly certain ill go with the LS6 cam, rockers, and springs.
I am also unsure if i want to go with a Carb build or leave the EFi...suggestions???
