Default New from NY

Hello everyone. I am currently in the market for a new toy and I am leaning towards getting a 98-02 camaro. I signed up on here hoping to get some good insights on these cars. Hope to be here for a long time. See ya around

Take your time searching and you'll find a nice one. There's plenty out there from low miles, all stock to highly modified.

What part of NY?

I have been looking for a bit and found a potential candidate:

http://nwct.craigslist.org/cto/5198274812.html

My only concern with that car is the higher mileage which I believe the block would have since it doesn't mention any bottom end work.

I live in Newburgh.

I'm right around the corner in New Windsor.

I've seen this listed for a while in Marlboro - http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/cto/5189582002.html

Thanks for the link. I had seen that one but I'm not a fan of t-tops.

For 5k that is almost worth picking up and parting out. Wish I had the room....

I'm over here in central valley myself. What are you looking to spend ? Mine is always for sale given the right price lol

Do they still do the show on Saturdays over there at the 5 point intersection?

Yea they still do a cruise night Saturdays in Vails gate by price chopper. The more popular spot is up by the mid Hudson bridge whcih is also Saturdays.

As far as the car, its gonna be a project for me. More of a toy, but I want to have the option of being able to drive it daily if I want to. Figured for the price its pretty much the parts and tune your paying for the car is a bonus! Lol Worst case down the road I get a lq4 or lq9 block and add that to the mix for a fun motor combo.

I'm in the town of newburgh. Just wondering where you guys go for performance work? I heard of sick speed in Goshen but I called and left a message no return call. Don't know if they are still around. Any help is appreciated.

Nice car Scotty. But I have decided that I would be most happiest with a m6 hardtop car.

I wanted a hardtop car also but the few I found were automatics. I settled on a t-top car because it had everything else I wanted. They're out there, but it may take some time to find one with an M6.

Either way it's a fun car to drive, good luck with your search and post some pics when you find one.

Darcar, you are talking about Charlie I haven't heard much of him recently but he had/has a small shop and a dyno for tuning. But what are looking to get done. I'm a master tech for BMW but know the ls1 camaros pretty thoroughly if you want to get some work done.

Let me know what you find, I have a great tuner, metal fabricator and I am more then capable to handle any work that you may want to do or lend a hand. Met a few of my best friends helping with there cars. Next weekend should be camming a c6 at my buddies house in stony point
