Default New guy round 2

Hey guys, been lurking for quite awhile, only recently did I need to read more and more.

I recently picked up a 2004 1500 single cab short bed 2wd v6/4L60 for 2500 bucks with 225k miles.

I came from the Duramax Diesel world since 2006. I know the ins and out's of that engine to a T and just recently sold my single cab long bed race truck that ran a best of 10.5 @ 138 on a single charger on spray. It made a best of 1018hp/1788tq
Enough of the diesel ****, by now you probably assume I spent a lot of money to go fast in a diesel, well, I did.

I picked up a 2007.5 LY6 with "72k" on the complete engine. I recently stripped it down to check everything out and going to do a full forged rotating assembly. I am learning more about what to use, and what to buy on these LS engines. Coming from the diesel world I don't have a clue about much, but know the basics, somewhat.

I plan on swapping the engine into the V6, yank the 4L60 and put a Jakes 4L80 in place with a pro yank 3400 stall converter.

Basically I want to go 9.99 at around 45-4600lbs. Truck is 2wd.

I am currently looking into this turbo based on a few DIY threads I have read on here. I just don't know how well the 83mm turbine will effect performance, as I ran 87mm and 96mm turbines on a diesel.

I don't have a power number as a goal, but considering weight I'd be looking around 800-850 to get 140mph. I want to run E85, with an injector around the 120lb/hr range.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Glad to join the LS club after years of overpaying for diesel parts.

Brian,
