Default New guy from Washington State

Hi guys, I have an 81' El Camino that I've been slowly working on in an effort to turn corners. So far, UMI rear suspension, UMI front lowers, Moog springs and Bilstein's all around. Unfortunately, still powered by the stock 305.

I have a SBC sitting on a stand, but I'm really interested in ditching that boat anchor and going with an LS, and hopefully a manual. This won't happen anytime soon, but I'd love to research what kind of build I'd settle on.

Options are:
1:Slap a stock LS in, with factory wiring (if that's even possible) call it good.
2:Slap an LS in, use a megasquirt box.
3: Go sloppy and turbo. I have zero experience with this except observing from afar. That'd be cool, but I highly doubt I'd go that direction.

Anyway, I figured I should make an account in order to lurk here.
