Default Howdy from Texas

I joined this forum because it looked like the best LS related forum and I am gonna do a 5.3 to 6.0 swap on my GMC Sierra 1500 Z-71

I will lurk some more because I was wondering if the stock exhaust would be OK (I actually have an aftermarket muffler with dual outlets)
There is not very much discussed on exhaust with the swap and will post questions in the proper section.

if your 5.3 and 6.0 are same generation motors it be easy to do. Just upgrade pcm for info 6.0 needs. everything should swap over

Thanks, I think I will just leave my exhaust as is ... I am kinda on the fence as to the motor , I found an 02 Escalade engine and an 05 2500 chevy engine and the Escalade engine is supposed to have more compression and power where as the 05 motor has better rods.
I will probably go with the 05 as I just want to be able to pull my boat better after putting big mud grips on my truck and both have about the same mileage.

I ended up with an 04 Escalade engine with 130xxx miles.
Hope it helps my big tired 4x4 pull my 20' Skeeter bass boat.
