New Old Guy
Been building engines for 38 years and the one thing I know is that I don't know it all. And I'm only as good as the people I surround myself with, so here I am. This will be my first LS build. I just bought a new LSX block 19260099 it is supposed to be fully machined with a deck of 9.240 and a bore of 4.185 and will accept a stroke of up to 4.250 any opinions on combinations? Looking to use it as a street/strip car.

Diesel LSX 400
Hello, I bought an early LSX @ 4.00" x 4.00" (9.74 deck) for use with my LSX four valve Diesel project.
My first problems were a solved by change in main cap attachment (ARP) AND a change in the lifter tray retaining bolts.
I fit Crower Billet Rods with .990" pins.
I used a LS-7 oil system with "Ford 5.4 GT-40 oil jets" through the mains.
My AU customer reported a deck that cracked @ 4.200" (between stud and bore) after a NOS spray on their first bench dyno test.
I too love to assemble engines, welcome !
I you want my help, just ask.
