Exclamation Just Came Over From The Dark Side

Hello everyone i hope im welcomed with open arms lol i just got into a 2000 T/A. Trading in my 99 ford mustang gt with many mods so yes im coming over from the darkside. Not that I didnt love my gt it was getting up in its milage and it was just time for a change. I would not have bought my T/A but i couldnt pass on it they gave me a great trade in value and and a good price on the T/A my only heart ache is that its a auto and i truely right now hate it i guess its cause im going from my modded 5 speed gt to this clean auto but the beautiful thing of it all is that its a 2000 with 9800 miles on it it still had the little hairs on the tires so i couldnt pass. Besides there are to many damn mustangs in this city or in the military for that matter. I have yet to modd it out at all sue to a tight budget right now but i have added some ghost flames that roll off the tips of the ghost bird on the hood. I have what i hope to be huge plans for this car and drive it very little but i want a car that put my last on the gt to shame. I have done nothing but eat sleep and breath fords for a few years now and ive found that things are quiet diffrent so ill be looking to everyone here for help on things right down to abbreveations for things and what names go with what parts and what are the best combos for things you guys will probaly be sick of me soon but i truely look forward to having fun on this wonderful website so to all of you that are regulars hello and great job on a this very informative webpage.
ONE2NVE

my first question is how do i post pics of this paint job for you all lol

Welcome to the en-lightened side. Sorry to hear about your sadness and loss, but you've made a wise choice. Fbods rule.

I think you'll find what you need here...if not, someone can tell you where to find it.

Welcome! If you have pics on your computer (100k or less) you can use the "Manage Attachments" button when posting a thread to add pics. Doing this will make them come up as thumbnails that you click on to get the full image. Otherwise, you'll have to have the images hosted somewhere on the net, then post the complete URL with image tags around it. [img]completeURLhere[/img]

I can't wait to see the pics!

The Mustang guys definitely don't think twice about dropping a big gear in their cars, both manuals and automatics. BUT on an LS1 it really isn't as necessary or desired for street cars. On an auto, that 3.06:1 first gear ratio really helps to launch the car out of the hole. Now add in a good torque converter with more stall speed (3200RPM or better, IMHO) and you better have good tires. I personally feel for a street-driven LS1 auto, 3.42 is the best compromise between performance and freeway RPM.

Lets put it this way -- a set of long tube headers, a 3600 RPM converter, stock 3.23 gears (if your car was equipped with them) and some sticky tires is enough to run low to mid 12's every day of the week. It only gets faster once you start adding motor parts too Quarter mile times in the 11's is quite easy, and very common.
