Default a new ls1 miata

So I got tired of my turboed miata and am now in the process of putting in a '02 Camaro LS1/T56 with the ls6 intake.

I am using racingconcepts.net's kit for mounting, a ford 8.8 diff with 3.73 gears. I hope to have it running by end of the year.

I plan on doing a small writeup and have tons of pictures that i will put on my site (that doesn't exist yet). There will be some videos too. I can't wait, its going to be sick.

yep, already been lurking in the shadows. Found some custom exhausts shops... Now I just have to see if I can have full duel's with x-pipe fit without killing my ground clearance. I'm not man enough for straight pipes that dump...haha. Going with flowmaster 40's i think.

A local guy Tim has a H/C 383 LS6 in his red miata. The custom headers he had to build choke it a bit, but it still makes 450 rwhp and similar torque.

Don't waste your time with a flowmaster.

LS1Sounds.com will give you a decent idea of sounds.

Flowmaster 40 series has terrible sound, and not the best flow. Trust me, I have two

I've been to ls1sounds, I don't want anything that drones a lot or that is super loud (i have to do 800+ mile treks a couple or more times a year). The only problem is that exhaust sound is super subjective as is "loud". And its hard to judge a exhaust solely by video. I can handle noise but I don't want anything annoying.

Whats your opinion on exhaust?

So i've read up a little more. Looks like I might be going magnaflow. I was torn between flowmasters and magnaflows before. I am calling buster tomorrow to see what he wants as far as price. I have headers, just need the rest.

If it were possible to shoehorn the LS7 in there it would be the modern day Shelby Cobra.

It is possible, the LS7 is the same overall size as the LS1. Just cost lots more $$$. It would be hard to find room for the dry-sump tank, might have to switch it to wet-sump or make a custom dry-sump tank.

Default Custom exhaust

LS1 Miata, This is Jason with Enthuzacar. We do miata exhaust systems and are located in Kennesaw.
I have been looking to design a exhaust for the LS1 swap. Let me know if you are interested in allowing me to use your car for a "test" prototype in return for a deeply discounted custom mandrel bent exhaust system. Call or e-mail anytime. (404)310-3302 jason@enthuzacar.com

Not trying to pimp my company. Simply trying to expand my product line and provide a member of your forum an exhaust for his car in a situation that will be beneficial to us both. I didn’t mean to offend. Jason
