Smile New Lady on the Block

Just got my 2002 Torch Red Convertible C5 a couple of weeks ago. The weather in Austin has been very warm and even though it's December, I've been able to drive around with the top down. There's just nothing like it. It did rain yesterday and my baby is now pretty dirty. Can anyone tell me if I can run (in an emergency) my convertible through a touchless car wash? Don't yell...it'll only be on an emergency basis..LOL Thanks.

Don't EVER run your car through a carwash.

Congrats on the purchase

Yea, so I've been told. Ok Ok...I'll do the deed myself. Thanks for the welcome guys. I got the McQuirre's gold wash and all, but haven't had the time to wash it this week. Just hate driving it around all dirty.

I try not to run mine through washes, but sometimes I do since I live in an apt and don't have an area to wash my car. Also, we care in a drought condition here in NC and even people who have places to do so, are told not to wash their cars. Be sure not to drive it through any washes with brushes, though. I usually take my Cobra to a manual carwash and do it myself. I don't even pull the trigger on the spray gun, I just let it come out as fast as it does with no pressure.

I know how you feel, but at least you have a red car! My red WS6 hardly showed dirt at all. Now, my blue Cobra is another story...one day and you can see the dust on the dark color!

I do have it easier with a red color, but we have a LOT of road grime around here with so much road construction around Austin.

Okay, I'll use the hand held wash facilities when I can't do a wash in the driveway. I was mainly concerned about the pressure washers hitting the convertible top and if it would leak inside.
