Hello people. im new here anyways I have a 02 trans am and someone told me I should have the LS6 intake manifold.. but i looked under the hood of my buddies 99 t/a and the intakes look exactly the same??whats the diffrence between the two ? oh and im looking to get longtube headers with true duals.. about how much would it be for the exhaust if i get the pacestters w/ duals? thanks in advance for any replies

Welcome, the 01-02 vehicles come stock with a ls6 manifold and a true dual set up with the pacesetters will run you around $800-900 give or take a lil.

the difference between the ls1 and ls6 intake at a viewers point of view is the egr valve, the ls1 intake has one going into it and the ls6 does not. its a hose that goes straight into the top of the intake right behind the throttle body.

I have pacesetter midlengths and a true duel setup, and i love it. I would recommend not lowering your car with duals though.

Im lookin into gettin pacesetters as well. but I dont have the time to do the work myself and the only shop around me said it would cost me 700$ just to put the headers on thats not including the rest of the exhaust.... :/

Sometold me that I should just get the headers then into the Y pipe.. that it would show the same amount of gains as the duals. how much more hp should I get w/ true duals vs a catless Y

Cats generally only take away about 1-4rwhp which is really nothing to worry about and from what I understand a true dual set up doesnt really gain you anything until you approach power levels of 450rwhp+. So your decision should be based on what kinda sound youd like unless you plan on adding a H/C set up and wanna get every last bit of power outta her.
