Default Hello from the UK

Hey people,

Been just watching for a while so thought I'd better say hello.

My name is Steve Gotz and i'm an aussie living in the uk, my current ride is a 1940 ford pickup as I'm a hot rodder as such but not a technophobe.

My interest in this forum is really only engine based as I'm planning my build of a boosted 4.8l truck motor for a Model A bonneville roadster. We have lofty goals with 220mph being the mark we are aiming for. We aren't planning to be turning a wheel on the salt until 2013 but the build will actually start next year.

Anyway thats me.

Cheers

Sounds like that ought to be one helluva roadster. Where are you guys going to run that thing in the UK? I didn't know there were salt flats on the island..lol. Are you going to be lucky enough to get to drive it? Good luck with it none the less mate.

Cheers

Yeah Smus is right, I'll be shipping it over for Speedweek and hopefully be able to do the World Finals in October as its all about getting 2 club red hat and then putting the roadster back on the street.

There's a couple of old airfields that can be run on over here but I've yet to check them out and with some street tyres should be able to get some plus 150 runs in over here.

It should be fun, I'm over for Speedweek next month for my virgin visit but luckily I already known a couple of racers to help me meet people and annoy them with 1,000 questions.

Thanks for the welcomes also people!

Steve

Oright mate,

I was born in the UK, Liverpool.

That truck sounds exciting, boosted 4.8 Litre, 200+mph. Awesome!

I hope you acheive your goal.

Good luck with it.
