Default Over from PT.net, looking for my 1st LS1

Hey guys (and girls). I've been on this site checking things out for a while now...tons of great info. I'm hoping you can help me out.

I've been looking into getting an LS1 F-body, and have found a red '98 Z28 M6 w/ 80K...cloth int. but it has t-tops and all power options. It is owned by a 40 yr. old lady that's cut my friend's hair for years. This friend is also her mechanic so he's done all the required maint. on the car. She's owned it for 5-6 years and is the second owner. The car is bone stock, and driven easily by her...no dings, maybe a few light scratches/chips in the front fascia from driving. Stored winters. I've got her talked down to $5800. Good deal? I've heard from "friends of friends" to steer clear of the '98s because they were problematic. Any truth to this? Looking to make it a fun, fast weekend car.

Thanks for any help.

you know alot of the history on the car you know the mechanic you say its i great shape the only question is do you want it?the 98's where more common for piston slap and the comps where harder to tune for forced induction but I have owned to 98's in the past an they where awome cars and gave me absolutly no problems at all.

Haha, I'm used to the piston slap...my Z71 w/ the 5.3 sounds like a baby diesel on cold mornings.
