Was at the track running my car last weekend and on my second to last pass, it started to make noise on deceleration. Upon driving it home, it was really thunking like a tooth was broken. I pulled the rear cover off and there wasn't really any excessive metal in the gear lube and there were no chips or broken teeth. It's not a bearing noise, I have heard that and it does not go away upon accel and decel. This noise varies upon accel, decel, and coast. I'm totally stumped. Nothing seems out of whack in the rear. Any ideas? I already checked the pinion nut for tightness, so I know it's not that.
