Default Turbo experts?

Have a question. Looked at a 79 T/A with a TT 383 using GT3071R's tonight. My question is will these turbo's make adequate power on a 383 without running out of top end? I don't have complete specs on the complete build but here is what i know..

8:1 compression
Plans to run 18-20 psi on pump gas
Victor Jr. Heads/Intake
Not sure on the carb or cam specs

Car is pretty awesome and is 95% complete. What kind of power would the above combo produce at those boost levels? Thanks guys

Compressor wheels make power

Turbine wheels determin spool and top end power... relatively speaking.

How much power are you trying to make? T3? T3/T4? T4?

What exhaust housing? What compressor housing? What wheels?

Spent about half an hour typing **** and computer fucked up and lost it all, so cliff notes you posted a link to gt30's with T25 housings, thats too small to me, the normal gt30's are T3 housings which would be good, in my opinion there should be GT35's on there if you want top end they are for 2.0-4.5L and you are at 3.1, they are good to 400-600 each but your motor would still spool them well.

The standard GT30's with T3 housings will work pretty well, hp guess.... say 750at that PSI? but there are so many variables with turbo's, too damn many almost.

Depends if you posted the right link though.

I gave alot of comparisons in a/r sizing etc to what size motors blah blah factory car this and that but most of all did you post the right link? You posted the only 30's with T25 housings, and those are made for a max of 3.0l displacement where you will be running 3.1xx, so your a little over the line already. But that just equates to low RPM spool so they will be super responsive, but that also equates to top end drop off and reversion ( exh backup ), they have a range the lower they start the lower they stop.

It says on the standard GT3071R that its "perfect for dual setups making up to 900hp". but says nothing like that on the link you posted.

Here is the link im looking at. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...30/GT3071R.htm

by the way Garrett GT turbos are BAD *** best of the best.

oh and I am no expert, just posting my from my research and experience with the turbo I used.
