Default changing rear end gears

Ok........looking for some help here.......I have all the parts to do the swap from the 3.42 to the 4.10......... I have done all my own work on everything in the past, but have never tackeled the rear gears.

Is it something the average home mechanic can do or should it be left to the pro's..........any guides to walk me through it and speacial parts/tools needed????

Thanks
