Default P1SC Procharger Questions

I just recently bought a P1SC kit. I am running a 224/230 .581 .588 114 cam. I currently have 4.10 gears in the car. Should I change the gear back to the stock 3.42, put in a 3.73 or keep the 4.10s. What is the ideal gear setup for a cam'd procharged car? The kit I bought also came with a good many Procharger and Crank Pulleys. What combo should I be running to achieve 7lbs of boost?

Thanks.

Zach

Is it the stock 10 bolt with 4.10's? If so save for a 12 bolt or a 9" ect.

Zach, I would keep the 4.10 gears, and if this is a 6 rib kit then I would start with the ProCharger 6.00" crank pulley and a 3.70 blower pulley. Bob

Bob,

The kit came with both the 6 and the 8 rib pulleys. Will the sizes still remain the same? Thnaks.

If it is the ProCharger 8 rib kit, you first need to use an ATI Performance Products harmonic balancer, and pin the balancer to the crankshaft. The ProCharger 8 rib crank pulley then bolts to this balancer, and it is larger in diameter than the 6 rib crank pulley. 7.65 compared to the six rib's 6.00. The larger diameter of the crank pulley on the eight rib means you need to use a larger pulley on the blower to make the same amount of boost.

This chart enables you to figure out the impeller speed of the blower for the six rib vs the eight rib. Bob

Bob,

I do plan on pinning the kit regardless of 6 or 8 rib. Here are the pulleys that I have.

6 Rib

6 and 8 inch crank pulleys
4.0, 3.85, and 3.20 blower pulleys

8 Rib

7.65 crank
3.40 Blower

Out of these possible combo's; which would net around 6-8lbs of boost?

Thanks again.

Hmm, being a P-1SC and with your camshaft I would go with the eight rib combination. The 3.40 pulley should be about right, but take the rpm's up in increments when you do your tuning just to make sure you don't see too much boost. Bob
