I'm trying to figure out if I need to trim the lip off of the front underside of the hood. Right now the lip keeps the hood from sitting flat on the racecraft rails. I am thinking the area of the hood that the dzus fastener comes thru must be flat with the rail or else it will look bubbled, correct?

Is it ok to trim the front underside lip flat on these thin hoods? It looks like it really helps with structure. It's a vfn sunoco pin-on, btw.

Also, anyone not using fasteners in the rear?

I trimmed just enough off the Racecraft rails for the lip of the hood to slip down over them... I wanted to keep the lip to help with rigidness of the hood itself and also the lip keeps the hood up level with the roll of the fender.

Chek out this thread... tons of discussion on mounting the hood.

I'm referring to the smaller lip on the front underside of the hood. It's alot smaller than the side lips, but is keeping me from getting my hood flat on the rails. I may just try to shim the rails to let the gap fall thru...

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the sides...

That's exactly how I'm doing the front. I bought some longer fasteners and used aluminum bushings to space out 3/8 of an inch.
