Default What would you guys do if you were me?

I am currently contemplating on getting a formula or T/A again. But the only color I would want is SOM. I know they are pretty rare (at least in the formula's case). Now would you guys just keep on looking in hopes to eventually find one or just pick up a formula and paint it?

I know it's kind of a weird question but I have ALWAYS wanted a SOM T/A.

I would wait until you find the color you want. Getting a good quality color change paint job would run you anywhere between $4-6k if it's not from someone you know. I think SOM cars are pretty rare, but I think it'd be worth the wait.

You will find one if you are willing to travel. Between ebay, autotrader, cars.com, etc... you will find one within weeks if not right now. Don't be afraid to travel especially if you are that set on SOM. Travelling anyplace in the country would be cheaper than painting one.

If I found a low mile car with everything I wanted, for a good price, then I would paint it.

If I couldn't find the above, then I'd stick it out and wait.

I would find the exact car you want.

I just flew to Texas (i live in Indiana) to buy my TA because i felt it was such a good deal. It also made for an awesome road trip driving it 1200 miles back

Its always better to go with what you want first, because if not itll cost you money later. Patience is a virtue...

My wife is totally in love with SOM. Always has been. We bought her a Red '00 WS6 and she wants to paint it. I think that would ruin a great looking car. I told her, "You want a SOM car, then buy one". Unless you have a mystic teal car I say don't change colors! lol

I agree with the majority here, just be patient and wait till you find the car you want and don't settle for a second best option. You will regret not waiting for the right one to come along otherwise.
Good luck

I'm the same way. I would not buy another Trans Am unless it was a SOM 2002 WS6 bone stock clean as **** low mileage.

there is nothing like owning one that has the original paint on it, i would stick it out, be patient, be willing to travel, and wait for a good deal. It took me about 2 months to find my car, but i go exactly what i wanted and got an awsome deal on it too.

I'd wait it out, by spending the extra $$ to paint it, you can buy a plane ticket to fly whereever to buy the "right" true SOM car.
