Default Would you trade 2001 camaro SS vert for 1968 Camaro SS

I have had my car for trade only for quite some time now and am really interested in an 03 cobra, long story short someone wants to trade me a 1968 camaro ss for my car.

My car, 2001 Triple Black SLP SS Camaro convertible, with Center mounted exhaust, SS grille,10-spoke chrome wheels, 44k miles, auto, factory LS6 block, bone stock, has everything you could possibly get from SLP, car cover, floor mats, I believe this car is super rare, and will be worth a ton of money later on down the road etc....

His car 1968 Camaro SS, with built 454, D1SC procharger, tons of parts, with over 40k supposedly invested. The car is also a four-speed and a real SS car with a different motor in it now.

Catch, my cars paint is immaculate, his car is a flat dark grey in need of a paint job, did he just spend way to much money on the drivline?

Should I keep it, trade it, sell it out right, trade for a terminator

What would you do, please post up...

Trade for a 03/04 Cobra!!!! I'm kinda in the same boat, but I think I'm gonna keep my SS and just get a 03/04 Cobra sometime in the future.

It would be a weekend slash track car, but Im kind of getting worried because my camaro is basically mint untouched original, his is a 454 out of a 1971 chevelle, with a D1SC, car is flat black right now, and I don't know if this is a good trade.

Keep them coming fellas!

Got any pictures of the first gen? What shape are the floor pans in? Trunk pan? Has it been tubbed? Is it an original big block car? Does it have the factory 12 bolt? Original interior? These are just a few things to consider when looking at the car. What kind of body work has it had? Does it have a cage in it? A good paint job on a first gen is going to cost 10K.

I guess I am in the minority when I think that the 4th gen SS won't really be worth anything more than a regular Z28 will be down the road because it wasn't as different as SS models were in the past. To a lot of people outside of the fbody world, its just a stickered up Z28 and to an extent I have to say I agree when you compare it to SS' of the past.

I would just have fun with what you have and maybe pick up a Cobra later or something.

so let me get this straight. . .

badass drivetrain in a 1st gen and the only downside is it needs a paint job and you don't know what color to pick for it??

come on . . . just do it, i sure as hell would.

I have pics of the first gen, but don't know how to put them on here. Needs paint 4 sure, and motor is a 454 out of a 1971 chevelle that is supposedly built, with D1SC, and m22 4-speed, I appreciate the posts, and Ill def have to think this one over.

Im a little weirded out by the flat black, Plus I will prob not find another 2001 optioned like mine again, 01 Triple Black Camaro SLP SS Convertible with near perfect black paint, they made less auto's than sticks, mine is an auto, Center Mounted Exhaust, SS grille, 10-spoke chrome wheels, floor mats, portfolio, car cover, LS6 block on top of that also,

Made 112 auto Camaro SS verts without SLP breakdowns. Mine will prob be 1 of 10-15 made like this

I might go for it, might not, thanks for the post up guys, I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks again
