1995 obd1 system,obd2 plug,how do i get codes hello, i just bought a 1995 z28 convertible. it has a obd 2 plug, but the system is obd1. i have a obd2 scanner, and i bought one of those small scanners from autozone for obd1, but neither will work, so how do i get codes? i have a check engine light, if i code get code be very nice. thanks need help.

i am by chicago. i am not a computer guy. was looking on sshbox and they had a article on 16 pin obd2 to 12 pin obd1. i tryed that and now the car wont start. just turning over won't fire, i think i used wrong pins. could i have messed up computer.
