Corvette Performance - New Vette 50's Body?

I saw one on ESPN2 on one of there car show shows. Basically its a newer vette with the body of a 50's vette roadster. Kinda like a body kit. Anybody have any info or pics. I swear I saw one of these today just wanna make sure.

I've seen several of these. GM had one at the woodward dream cruise in michigan last year, along with a '55 belair. there were one or two at the corvette classic at texas motor speedway this past year. these are not kit cars. they are older body vettes that are set onto a C-5 chassis. I spoke with one owner at TMS last year, and he informed me that he spent about 42k for the change over. that price did not include the older body or the C-5 chassis. he had a few upgrades on the brakes, suspension and drivetrain. I'm keeping an eye out for a good deal on a '58-'61 vette myself. those things sit real nice on the newer chassis. and that LS1-LS6 engine under the hood is something to behold. when the hood is closed, the only clue to any changes is the 6 speed shift pattern on the console, and the four wheel disc brakes visible through the mag wheels. you might check the conversions section in this forum for more info. or check on some of the corvette forums.

They're ok. I still dont think it looks that clean or as nice as the original C1s. Its not a bad kit, but for the price, there's other things i'd rather do.
