Default Help removing hatch

Hey guys, i'm replacing my 93 formula hatch with a TA hatch.

From my understanding, i can see that there are four bolts holding the hatch up, as well as the wire harness and the shocks.

I figured out how to remove the shocks, but how do you remove the harness and the bolts? What is the correct procedure?

Thanks!

I did my Firebird hatch to T/A hatch early this year....but if I recall..

Unscrew the dome light cover thing by the hatch. And CAREFULLY.......CAREFULLY! Pull the headliner down and you should find the connector for the wiring harness, carefully disconnect it (I think it has a little clip on it, can try to use hand or carefully get a flathead in there).

Then like you said there are 4 bolts at the top of the hatch that connect to the body, just undo those and obviously the shocks and your fine...

Took my brother & I about a hour to align the new hatch, you'll see, plenty of tightening/loosening of those 4 bolts and closing the hatch to see how it looks lol. Have fun

Did you have to replace with Struts for Hatch? I heard that T/A Hatch has its own Struts because its 100 pounds heavier. And Firebird Struts won't hold it.

It's not 100 lbs heavier..... but it is heavier..... the stock Firebird struts won't hold up the T/A hatch... I know.... I did the swap and tried to use the Firebird struts.... they wouldn't hold the T/A hatch open.

^^^^^nope.... it will open with the electric button even with the Firebird struts.
(I ran mine for nearly a week with the my Formula struts..... it still open with the electic button or remote.)

Only down side was the hatch wouldn't stay open till I changes over to the T/A struts.
