Default Gear fluid smell

I had the rear rebuilt (under warranty) last month. Recently after driving for at least 15 min when i stop im getting a strong gear fluid smell but there are no leaks. Could the rear be overheating and fumes are seeping out through seals or vent tube ? I'm going to check the level tomorrow.

Thanks

I have a leaky axel seal, the inside of the rim and rotor are coated. You could be overfull with fluid, I would really start checking for leaks. A can of brake clean and a rag just in case to clean everything and then see where it could be coming out.

Worst came to worst, use some dye and a light.....

I already went under there and cleaned it all up thinking maybe some fluid sprayed when it was in the shop. The weird thing is when i stop the smell is there for about 10 mins then its gone.

I check the fluid today and its full. I did notice some gear fluid on the right side of the rear end where the right axle goes in. Its not enough for a drip but its wet.
