Default wideband af/r gauge mounting in car

getting an AEM wideband controller gauge.
Anyone have experience installing one?
it comes with one 02 sensor - should I put that in either header collector or into my X-pipe to read both banks?
it comes with a wire for 0-5v and one for RS232 port plug logging - will I need to leave these hanging off the gauge to plug my laptop into?
Using the RS232 - won't my tuning software be using that port on my laptop to log?

any advice from guys with a wideband gauge in their car appreciated
