Default Factory Bore Finish

If you were building a short block and bought a new L92 block that has a finished bore from the factory, why would you want to have it rehoned??? There are a lot of pretty stout head cam cars running stock untouched bottom ends. I searched and really could not find a good answer...

You would re-hone to true up the cylinder. Factory standards are not as stringent as some builders standards. Thats why we sell a 403 and not a 402 when it comes to the LS2 block. Just replacing internals isn't a true race build. We hone and line hone to our standards not factory GM standards.
