Default Tested my new combo. Pretty happy with the results

Went to the track for the first time in about a year. Spent the last 3 months converting my Camaro from a 9:0 to 1 compression H/C STS car at 5PSI to a 10:7 to 1 compression H/C naturally aspirated car. Also added a Moser 9" and some suspension parts during the rebuild.

Track was Virginia Motorsports Raceway in Petersburg, Va. Temps were in high 50's. Track prep was good.

Here's the times (#624, right lane)

I granny-shifted (ie no powershifts) and was still adjusting the tune between rounds w/ my HP Tuners. Also had full interior, 2/3 tank of gas, and kept the WOT timing conservative at 23*, so I know there's plenty left in this combo

Overall I was really happy with the car. The 9" w/ the Detroit Locker true-track is awsome. I could heat the drag radials easily without a linelock and the car stayed perfectly straight. It drove wonderfully. I drove 90 miles each way to/from the track + made 3x passes. Fastest was a 12.700 and slowest was a 12.830.

Anyhow, felt the need to share

Car only made 453rwhp with the old setup?

What's it putting out on the new setup? What heads/cam do you have? Curious because alot of bolt-on cars run similar times.

453/432 is avg HP for a STS at 5PSI. Car wouldn't hook off the line or make power till top of 2nd gear on that setup. It was a monster on the interstate, but was a slug around town till 40+MPH. Best time w/ the STS was 13.3@119.

New combo is a CC 228/232 .600/ .600 111LSA and ported 243 heads. similiar combos dyno around 400RWHP.

I know the car has a lot left in it. I'm still adjusting the tune and haven't even started on the new suspension. The front sway-bar was connected and ran stock size front tires (no skinnies). Also did not powershift while sorting things out and have yet to dial-in the launch (as the soft 60' times show)

No excuses, just wanted to see how the car would act before going "all-out".

That in mind, yep, I'm happy with the initial results.
