Done some searching but not really finding all that I need.

What I have is a 02 6.0 with 4L80E tranny. I'm tired of trying to make it fit in my vette and want a 6 speed anyways. I know I can get a custom tailshaft but by the time I buy that for $$$ I'm not really that far off from just getting a 6 speed anyways. So....

Knowing that I have a 6.0 with an auto what parts do I need specifically to hook up a 6 speed, I'm assuming T56 as my understanding a ZF would be much harder? (But I do have to worry about the custom tailshaft that a vette has) This is going into a 87 vette and I'm not sure if the shifter position is the same for say a F-body?? I can make up the difference by selling the 4L80E (45K on it I think) plus I have 2 4L60E, 2 transfer cases and 2 4.3l v6's I can also sale. I actually should come out ahead if I can get all of that sold.

This car has been down for almost 4 years now and really want to get it going again. thanks ahead of time for any help.

you can bolt up a T56 from the 98-02 LS1 Fbody, or CTS-V or 05+ GTO...

Just make sure whatever bell housing you get you match the starter up that works for that year.

Will my existing flywheel work?

You can IM me off thread, I can only guess what they go for local for a good low mileage 4L80E. Shipping is always the kicker it seems tho.

No. You have a flexplate now that mates up to the 4l80E. You would need to get a flywheel that matches the corresponding t56.
