https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....6&postcount=22

i have followed all of the directions on the FAQ thread to the T, but after i held the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter, it didnt do the sequence, nor does the transmitter work.

its my only transmitter and the old battery in it was dead, so i replaced it. and now it doesnt work.

Clean the contact inside the remote on the back of the rubber piece and all so on the mother board. Plus make sure the prong that holds the battery in is make contact with the other piece.
Make sure you are removing the radio fuse.

Don't know why it's not working. Try shoeboxes 96/97 instructions, his step 1 doesn't mention turning the car to RUN first - maybe that's it?

Turning the ignition to RUN isn't an essential step. GM just recommends it to make sure the alarm system has been reset before beginning programming.

i will check out those directions. the alarm is always set, so i do need to turn it into run.

after the off to run 3 times in a row it goes through the motions, then i hold the lock and unlock for the 15 seconds, plus longer hoping that you will hear the locking/unlocking, etc. and it doesnt.

i did clean all of the contacts and the battery is properly seated and i double checked and it was the correct battery for the remote.
