Default Track times for my dyno numbers.

I got the car out today and made some passes. The track was pretty good and the weather was great. +220 DA. The first pass off the street was 10.5@133.93 with a 1.69 60ft. Things were not looking good. Then I ran the next string of passes hot lapping. Let's just say I needed a driver mod today. My computer took a dump so I only logged the first run but couldn't tune. I was rich in the middle and lean up top. So there was some more in the tune.

Decent pass. Bogged and then short shifted 3-4 shift.
1.61
6.73
106.18
10.41
135.38

Bogged and then short shifted 1-2 and 3-4. I suck.
1.60
6.75
104.43
10.41
134.05

Every thing went pretty well. Had some tire spin on 3-4 past the 1/8th.
1.51
6.55
106.43
10.21
136.12

I tried to do better but the track was going away. I was only launching at 4,500. Any thing higher resulted in bad tire spin through three gears. The ET Streets just couldn't catch up. So I packed it in. I should have run out one of the spin launches to see what I would have mph'd.

Combo:

N/A 416 555/509rw
Stock 3.42 gears
2 1/2" exhaust
GTO spares up front
Camaro 16's out back
Old ET Streets at 15psi.

I am leaving about 20rw on the table right now and I need a gear bad. There is another track that is proven 1-2 mph faster that I am going to try to get to. I know the car has 9's in it for sure now. I just have to refine every thing. I will get a slip and an alright video of the runs up.

Bottom 10s with high mph proves that your dyno numbers are legit (if not conservative). Great job!

Great numbers!

Aren't the doughnut style spare tires usually only rate for 50 mph or so? Not sure what the GTO spares are good for.

getting rid of all the rotating weight from those rims will help alot .......I would say you'll come close to picking up those 2 tenths in the right conditions .

If you ask me, 10.21 @ 136 is rolling out, congrats

A 1.51 sixty foot is not bad for an ET Street either, I had no luck with them.

Looks like you could use some more rear gear, I know the days of my 3.42 are numbered.

How high mph-wise will 3.73s take you? I can't imagine with that trap speed you can go with 4.10s since mine only take me to roughly 120 or a little higher in fourth and obviously you don't want to hit fifth. What are your plans?

And that trap speed definitely backs up those dyno numbers. Nice job with the combo.

Screamin: The tire on the GTO rim is only rated to 50. The rim is very stout and doesn't look half bad. Just sits in some. I am running M/H drag tires on them now. They have held up fine so far.

Ndsrf6: I am sure I would pick up some with a real CCW drag pack. A friend of mine is going to loan me his for some money runs when I get every thing dialed in. I still need to get an alignment, repack the wheel bearings, and get the rotors turned. I can't even get the tires to rotate twice on a free spin.

Brian: I def need a gear. No doubt about that. I think for what it is, the car is doing pretty well.

Pewter: With a 3.90 I can go 140@7,000 with a 26" tall tire. The motor falls off a little after 6,700 so I could get away with a 3.90. Plus if I am still running a bias ply tire they grow as you go down the track lowering you gear ratio. I think the dyno numbers may be a little conservative given the car weighs 3,400 with me in it. But I like honest numbers. It makes it easy to back them up at the track. We don't race dyno's.

Allngn: Thanks. Did your motor get postponed? I was thinking it was going to be done in October.

^Very cool idea since you swapped on some good tires in the front.

Not to take away from your thread, but my car just got to LGM and the motor should be built, installed, and tuned in about 3 weeks, or so.

Thanks for asking.

10.21 is very quick man. That must feel like an absolute rocket ship. I hope my 402 can get me to the low 11's or maybe high 10's with god's blessing. At any rate you are killing them at the track man.

Your last motor should have been high 10s with the HP in your sig...

If that comment was for me, my gearing didn't help and neither did the fact that I am a shitty driver help the matter either. Someone that can launch and a set of 3.73's would've helped tremendously. I was just getting into 4th when I crossed the 1320. Another couple hundred feet..............

If it wasn't for me then disregard.

Pray, you never stop rollin! Congrats! Was that at Nam? I found Rockingham to be much better a few weeks back (on street tires that is).

Wow, that is impressive. That's the kind of motor I'd like to build.

Redline: Yes that was at the NAM.

Bill: All the parts are off the shelf from Vengeance and SDPC except the cam. I am not hiding the specs so you can copy those if you like as well. There is nothing professional done. I put this thing together in my garage and tuned it my self.
