Default loss of cruise control

What cause's the cruise control to stop working. I've also read people take cruise off to lose weight and such is it worth it. The same time my cruise went out my ABS inop lot started flashing sometimes i start the car up it goes away other times not.

checks relays and fuses. Also when a tail light goes out that causes the cruise to stop working, see if you have a burnt bulb, dont forget the middle light also.

Yea, if the Taillights go, the Cruise doesn't work. Might have a loose Wire. I was going to take it out, but I like it too much. That and it's only like 2 lbs.

I lost my cruise ever since I swapped over to 97 - 02 tail lights. Is there any way to keep my cruise working with these tail lights?

^^You have a wiring issue..somewhere there is an open wire, it's not a complete circuit..

No, I swapped to the 97 and up tail light harness. Nothing was cut.

Well if you break the Tail Light circuit, then the Cruise doesn't work. Check where they plug into and see if everything lines up.

so i bought the bulbs for my tailight. No one believed me this was the cause of my abs light or my cruise control not working well we got out on the highway and turned cruise on it wouldn't go offkind of scary so i drove down to a church parking lot with my friend shut it off the idle went down to like 1500 then drove it home revved it up shut it off then my idle was back to normal but i don't wanna use my cruise anymore
