Post What exactly are tru dual exhaust?

I've been looking at mods and i keep seeing types of catbacks called true duals. does that mean that there two mufflers?

How does eliminating the y pipe benefit performance?

Thanks for the Info.

true duals = headers with pipes going all the way to the back of the car. no cats, no mufflers.

many mufflers have one inlet and two outlets that give the appearance of dual exhaust....

true duals would be like u said....the left header has a muffler and the right header has its own also....a "true dual" setup

True duals means two pipes running from front to back. It can have no mufflers or it can have 10 mufflers. It can have cats, a X pipe, a H pipe, it's still true duals.

hell ya it sounds way different! true duals has a louder and deeper tone at idle, Y-pipes sound raspy at WOT unless you go with a 4 inch Y-pipe LOL

True duals means 2 seperate pipes off the headers only meeting through an X pipe or H pipe or not meeting at all!!!
