How long does it take to program the ECM
I m wondering how long it takes to program the ECM if you already have the tune made up and you just need to load it to the computer.
The reason i ask is cause my laptop will stay running now for about 45 min maybe more with out being hooked to a charger(tuning software says not to tune hooked to the charger).

approx 90sec for a cal only and 2min for a full flash of the OS. Full flashes are only required if your changing the OS.. Either way, you'll be fine.

Yep, it doesn't take too long at all.
I have the same problem, old battery killing the life of my laptop. My solution......I bought a cheap inverter. Just think of it as insurance.
Losing power while uploading a tune is not fun.

Well what will i need just a quick cal or a full flash? All i am doing is just tuning for my new heads.
Also i was looking in my software last night and i didnt see anything for the EGR system or the AIR system that i could turn off or delete out of the system, where would it be?

Write calibration only on an 02 Z28 would take 22-30 seconds using HP Tuners barring any connection issues.
Write entire on an 02 Z28 would take 1m50s-2m10s using HP Tuners barring any connection issues.

"Write Calibration Only" is the regular, safest and fastest way to rewrite the VCM. ALWAYS use "Write VCM" when making regular tuning changes.
The "Write Entire" and "Write VIN/Tunerlock/VATS" options are special features to be used by advanced users only.
