Default Help me guys, I don't wanna sell my Z....

Lately I've been working the 8-5 shift at my work (that's my new permanent schedule) so I drive in rush hour traffic all the time. I haven't been driving much on the weekends since I've been married. I never really use the power of my car anymore (mainly because I'm usually in heavy traffic). I love the look of my car on the outside but the inside is getting on my nerves now. We all know that Camaros don't have the best interiors and are not very comfortable. Basically all the good things about Camaros I don't use much anymore and I'm left with the bad things. I don't want to sell my car because I'd seriously miss it on those weekends I would go somewhere. What I really want to do is seriously upgrade my interior (mainly having actual comfortable seats). What can I do to make the seats more comfortable or what are some good (and not terribly expensive) seats? If I can't find anything I might get a Chrysler Sebring. Not bad, but not really a looker; no V8 and no t-tops.

Trans Am Seats area cheap and comfy upgrade.

(less the two tone leather) Usually can get them from a bone yard

I've been thinking about that but do they really make a difference? I was thinking that they couldn't be much difference because they are still from a F-Body. Unfortunately I don't have any friends with a T/A but come to think of it I do have a co-worker with a 98+ Firebird.

My T/A seats are very comfortable too.I'm gonna be 50 yrs.old with a bad back and those seats aren't bad at all.

Get a cheap car for driving to work and keep the Camaro for weekends.

Well that makes me feel better about getting them because I'm 24 and have a bad back.

Can't afford to unfortunately. Probably could but my wife has a '02 Sonoma SLS and her car payment is almost as much as mine.

Depends on your budget.. TA seats are the best "bang for the buck".. if you have $1500 or so to spend you could go big time and get a set of Recaro "style" model seats.. they were SO F'ING COMPHY!!! in my old SS..

TA seats are lightyears better than fbod seats.. and they have lumbar support

One of the first things I did was swap over to the TA Seats. I'm very picky when it comes to seat comfort. That Stupid support bar in the Camaro Seats right across your lower back is for what Exactly???!! With even the slightest usage the cheap foam GM uses in the seats give out and all your weight is forced on that bar. The T/A Seats are not like this at all. If they even have that bar.. I can't feel it at all!. Extremely Comfortable in every way not to mention how well they look in our cars. You go from Inferior to Nice Interior!. They bolt right in!.

See Sig For Pics.

Yeah, not really in my budget. Maybe if that price included getting my back seats recovered to match (like having the back seats in those rare instances that someone sits back there.

Cool, I think you guys are selling me on the T/A seats. I might have to find me a T/A this weekend and take a test drive. God I hate dealing with salespeople though.

The Camaro seats are "adequate", but my Firebird seats were MUCH better. If I didn't have the fancy 2-tone 35th SS seats, I'd have already installed some Firebird seats.

Thx guys. I'm still gonna try some if I get a chance but it looks like I'll be getting some black leather T/A seats. Here's hoping I'll get a Christmas bonus this year and it'll be good. Hopefully it'll look good with my medium gray interior. Thx for all the input guys!

I have sat in both seats, total difference with TA seats. They contour around you.

Find someone with a TA, set the seats to fit you and drive around the block.

?? I could've sworn a TransAm IS an F-Body.

Anyhow, I agree T/A seats are better. I'm looking into doing the swap myself.

Yeah, I was hoping I could get them from him. I changed over my whole interior also (in my last car). He is great to deal with and they have quality stuff. Is it the same place now? I went to their website today and it said Striker's Auto Parts.

Geez, seems like I'm the only one here who thinks camaro seats are VERY comfy. I know 3 of my friends agree with me because they always say they never want to leave or get up because the car is so comfy *and yes they are being serious )... one of em even drivers a newer BMW.

T/A seats made a world of difference with my car. I didn't like driving my car if I had to sit in it for a long period of time as the stock seats were not cutting it. They sit low and the faom in them is too thin. I bought a set (F/R) of T/A seats and I love driving my car now. I can adjust the seats and make them very comfortable.

More pictures in sig below.

Cool. They look good in there too. What color carpet do you have? In some pics it looks like you have medium gray and some it looks charcoal gray.
