Default PTVC question please help.

So I finally got my PRC 5.3L 2.5 heads installed with TSP 1 7/8 headers and 42# injectors. Now I am getting an extremely loud ticking sound coming from somewhere that gets louder and more frequent the higher the rpms. Do you guys think it might be from PTVC? my set up is:

LQ9 iron block
5.3L heads milled .014 (61cc chambers)
comp 850-16 lifters
7.350 pushrods
Stock rockers
Cometic .041 gaskets
Weisco flat tops with -2cc valve pockets
232/234 598/601 114+2

I have checked for exhaust leaks and I also checked and double checked the pushrod length. I was told by TSP that I didn't even need to bother checking PTVC since my cam is a baby for a 370ci. Also, I tried disconnecting the coil packs and turned the engine over with the starter and I could not hear the ticking sound anymore. What do you guys think?

TIA
Bryan

Does it do it if its idling for a while? If it goes away at idle then you might check the oil pump o-ring if it was reused it might be the culprit, with rpm it causes the oil to aerate. Leaving the lifters to not fully prime. #7 is the most likely one since it gets oil first.

If it is its only a 4 hr job.

I higly doubt the tapping is from PTVC, I run a smaller chamber heads, bigger cam, and sdame size gaskets and I have adequate clearance (I measured it so I know its ok).

I tired cranking the motor over with just the starter without spark, with and without the valve covers on and I did not hear the ticking sound anymore. Could pushrods that are too long cause the valves to not fully close causing combustion to escape through the valve? The sound seems to be as frequent as the cylinders are firing. I hear about 4-5 ticks a second at idle which I believe is about how many times the engine fires at 1000rpm. Also, i measured pushrod length to be 7.270 at TDC without preload. TSP said it would be fine to run 7.350's with .75 preload. Any help is appreciated.
