12 Second Club - Cam and Stall CETA 12.37@109

Went to the test and tune at MIR today and was happy enough overall. I know my combination of stock manifolds, stock exhaust, stock 3.23 gears is killing my cam but the car drives like stock, pulls about 23mpg, and is still fairly quick. My mods are 226/226 comp cam, 3000 circle D stall, Fast Toys lid, JAAM ram air, Nitto Dr's, and an electric cutout. My best run with a little spin was:

1.72 60 ft
7.90 1/8th @88mph
12.37 @ 109.60mph

The car definately has more in it. Right now it has a real conservative street tune and drives almost stock. It just doesn't feel like it has any top end, probably cuz the manifolds and gears are killing the cam. The race weight is also a big fat 3780lbs full weight so that could use some improvement as well. I'm done for this year, spring will bring long tubes, 3.73 gears and a little diet. :D

I bought the whole cam kit with springs, pushrods etc., for my full bolt on 6speed TA, then unfortunately totalled that car and gave it to my brother to rebuild. When I bought the CETA, I had these parts in the garage and installed them with a friend so it didn't cost anything other than the dyno tune. I added the stall because I knew the car would drive terrible with the cam and no stall. Longtubes and exhaust will be coming soon enough. It's really a sleeper now because with the cutout closed you cant hear the cam at all.

No one ever puts much into the dyno numbers cuz it's hard to get an accurate number with the stall unlocked evidently. But it put down 362hp and 382tq to the wheels after the cam. Doesn't seem right with my low trap speed though. I don't care much about the trap speed anyway. Just want to break into the 11's after the longtubes and 3.73 gears.

I think you'll need a rear AND some tires! Or just DR's now. You were trapping close to 120 in our last race so you'll have me covered easy with a better 60 foot.

i actually have et streets mounted on my stock wheels...when eric was done with them he just left them on there for me and they still have lots of tread, the only problem is now i have to make them fit since they are 28" tall. Once you get headers and all that your car should be in the 11's so it would be a fun race as always

wow kitchen, ya wrecked the black bird huh. that blows, last time i saw you was at the 07 RFP and she looked great. I missed the 08 RFP but ill be their for 09. comin home next month. Anyway, nice times, looks like we will have a 3 way battle royale! I am going with alittle more aggresive cam, on a cam only set-up and i have an SS4000 waiting for me at the house with alot of suspension parts and i already have the ET streets on my stock tires for the track, and i want to blow past my 12.70, with just 3.90s and exhaust, and go straight too low 11s high 10s!!
