I don't like the GT-R. But, I won't deny it's performance for it's price. But, I also think it's transmission and Launch Control issues are pretty crappy on Nissans part. Either way, this car was way over hyped. So as not to be biased, this car should be compared to the Z06. Kinda the same crap when they kept comparing the Vette to the Viper.

I agree the C6Z should be compared to the GTR and the ZR1 to the V-spec. That will shut all these lil fanbois up for good. It has been proven the C6Z will take the GTR, especially in drag situation

i knew the gtr was over hyped before it even hit the streets. pos.
100k gets you nothing but a transmission made of glass and a self destruct button. and a little bit of decent power to back it up.
definitally should have been compared to the z06. and whats with the people saying stupid **** like "with 100 more hp its not even that much faster....1 second?"
some people's stupidity is beyond me.

I'm no GTR fanboy but they do perform. There is a local guy here with a white one. He has been to the track several times & is a very down to earth guy. He is cutting some nasty 60' times on street tires & running 11.5 in the 1/4 on those same street tires & nothing but a catback exhaust. Thats pretty damn impressive to me for such a heavy car. Granted I wouldn't pay $80k for it like he did, but I'll give it respect where it's needed.
I think the tranny issue has been a little overhyped on the internet also. We have talked extensively with the guy about it & he tells us he isn't worried about it. He beats on it constantly too. It doesn't stay tucked in the garage either, he has taken it to Hallet road coarse several times & drives it around town all the time.

How would you feel if Dodge advertised a comparison against an LS3 Vette vs an 08 Viper?

Actually, if you look at the 1/4 times for stock Z06's, the two cars are similar. Most people agree that the GTR will win 7/10 races on a well prepped track. Before you get your panties in a wad, this doesn't mean the GTR is faster, it means its easier to achieve better times. The Z06 traps 4-6mph higher so we know it is faster in a straight line.
