If you know the LS2 swap was done right I would get the 2000 WS6.

"IF" both cars run and look good then let the transmission decide it for you. Nothing worse then driving an auto on the street while you really want to row gears.
Likewise there is no fun in getting your butt kicked at the track while wishing you had a stalled auto that can get 1.7X 60's and go easy on the 10 bolt while doing it.
Good luck.

I would prob stick close to stock unless the ls2 was prefessionaly done. Low miles and stock = No snake oil

Yep, my buddy keeps buying "project cars" and ends up selling them because he has no idea what to buy when shit breaks/needs to be replaced.

yeah if the swap was done right and the car rides and drives fine do the 2000...but the 98 is a damn good deal too...are you a auto guy or a stick person??

Same thing as above, if the LS2 swap is clean go for the 2000. Plus it already has a ram air hood, assuming thats the hood you would buy for the 98. But it really depends on what your plans are for the car. If you just want a nice driver then get the stocker, if you want to build up a car, then the LS2 might be a good starting point if done right.

The closer to stock, the lower the probability of abuse.
7 cabbages for a low mileage mint condition LS1 car sounds good.
I vote for the white 98.

I'm thinking the 2000 with the LS2 if everything checks out. How many miles on that engine?
edit: plus an M6 is much more fun!

The bank won't give you a loan for $10k on that 98.

If your talking about the WS6 im thinking, it has been on craigslist for months. dont know if that has any meaning really, but i saw it a while ago on there. And an M6 ls2 with the stock 10 bolt will be interesting. Its a nice looking car though

Was hoping you would get the M6 LS2  but it is more money up front and of course your own choice in the end. Have you bought it yet? Good luck with the purchase!

Good choice.
M6 is fun for certain, but A4 is the better overall setup. More sophisticated, reliable, consistent. Also don't have to keep changing clutches (expensive and a PITA to install).

I don't know about the A4 being reliable by any means, and the words sophisticated and Fbody/WS6 Trans Am don't really go together but the A4 should provide more consistant runs though. He'll need a stall of course....
