Holset HX40W Hey guys, does anyone know much bout the Holset turbos? I have a HX40W, as the W indicates it has a internal waste gate, my problem is it is setup for 35psi and I only want bout 8psi. Does anyone know if and how I can switch it to an external aftermarket.

You should be able to weld the flapper shut and run an external off the manifold or somewhere else preturbo. Or you can remove the flapper and run an external right at the o2 housing. This is what we do on our dsms. I'm sure your setups differ but in theory should be the same.

I have the same question, Is there any way to change out the control valve on the internal waste gate to use that? it would be nice to not have to run an external WG... or is an external the only way to get adjustable pressure?
