Had my short block rebuilt with manley forged rods and pistons, clevite main and rod bearings and paid to have it debur/hones/decked/reassembled. Anyways these were left in and said they were ok to re use. They mic'd out of the block at 2.15X. These are stock GM bearings in a 2002 block with 150k+ miles on them. In a motor that was in mind to spin about 7k RPMs and on a good amount of spray.

Couldnt agree more. Even if they are fine its a peice of mind thing with me. I personally would never reuse any bearing in an engine.

Appreciate the responses, I was just re assuring my belief because the shop (also a sponsor here) that did my motor said he spec'd them and they were in spec so he left them in because 97/98 blocks had the best bearings, even though this was a 2002 block . They were never removed even though they I was charged to clean/debur the block.

I didn't even think about re using those bearings. Needless to say I was quite unhappy when they were not changed out.
