Default Starting the MODS! How am I doing?

YO YO YO What up homies? <-----Never could pull off that gangster thing lmao. Anyways, I made a list of the mods/things I have lined up for the car (Red 1994 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am M6 with 90K miles or have already bought. I put them in at least close to the order I plan to buy them in. I am far from rich and money is not abundant, but basically all of my spare money(besides college funds) will go into the car...I want the best of everything for the price, so for things where I don't have a brand mentioned- feel free to tell me which one is best. Are the prices accurate? Now if you read the whole things...Well, if you do you may fear for my mental health. It is ok. It is just my thing. I like to make lists of stuff I am really interested in...for instance: Cars. Call it OCD, but I like to list everything. If anyone else has any mod to add feel free to chime in.

TWO MUST HAVES are:

Police scanner-$150-$200...because it is nice to know what your uniformed friends are up to

Radar detector- $250 and Up...Escort or Valentine 1...that is the question?

1. GMMG catback $550 shipped (sitting on my living room floor)

2. 3.5 inch Corsa clone exhaust tips $105 shipped (also on the living room floor)

2. LPP stainless steel long tube header and off road Y $500 (sending a MO later this week)

3. Stage 8 header locking bolts$50 (Heard these were the best. I think I need 1")

4. Header gaskets $50 (Thought about going with Percys, but the Felpro name seems to pop up a lot)

5. Spark plugs and wires(with wire sleeves/heat shields) $120 (I need to do more research on these, but MSD wires and NGK plugs seem to be the general consensus. WHich are the best ones for a full bolt on car that is going to be cammed soon and maybe heads). Sizes?? etc

6. 02 extensions $50 (no idea what lengths or how many I need)

7. 02 Sensors $50 (like the extensions I have no idea what I need)

8. Moroso cold air intake $210 (a bit cheaper than K&N and I like the way it looks more secure...Idk could be wrong)

9. Throttle body air foil $25 (some say pointless, I say for the price, why not?)

10. throttle body bypass $30 (just heard about this mod yesterday...seems cheap and heard a few good things)

11. CAI elbow $70 (what is the best material to use? I do like shiny things . Best brand?)

12. Short throw shifter/short stick $ $250 (heard different views on this one...I am torn between B&M ripper and Hurst. Hurst shift ***** are cool. Which is better? Is there a better one than these two? Should I even bother with the Short Stick)

13. Shift light tach $100 (k, so even though I don't reealllly need it...it looks cool and I can listen to the stereo and not the engine all the time!)

14. Electric water pump $250 (heard good things about Mesemize or whatever brand it is...Some peeps have impressive gains too).

15. 160 degree thermostat $25 (Everybody is doing it...peer pressure )

16. Lt1 Scanmaster $249 (Is this the best scanner for our cars? they look kinda cool and high tech and it is good to keep on top of things)

17. Electric cutout $200 (a lil more power and a little more noise. Is QTP the best?

18. Alternator/underdrive pullies $250 (more power for not too much coin is always a +)

19. Ported MAF $150 (some say stay away from MAF like it was a 4 headed dragon, yet...the gains from one are appealing WHat do you think?)

20. Mail order tune/hypertech power programmer $250 (Even though a cam is on its way...it may be on its way for a while...I think a tune is in order! Who gives the BEST mail order tunes or SHOULD I skip it and get it dyno tuned for the money)

What numbers(0-60, 1/4 and rwhp) should I expect?)In addition to these mostly speed performance related mods, I will also look into(WARNING:THIS LIST INCLUDES EVERYTHING I PLAN TO PUT IN THE CAR*that I can think of*...May appear creepy lol.:

FULL suspension boltons...Get the power to the ground and turn some corners!

Lowering springs...I guess this is a bolton though

LT4 Knock module...Do i need one of these?

9 inch rear end...Rather do it early in the modding process than have to pay for it big time later.

4.10 gears...I may go lower, but really this is my DD and I plan to just smoke rice from stoplight to stoplight((on deserted roads of course )) so HIGH
HIGH HIGH speed is not a major concern of mine.)

fuel pressure regulator...no idea what these are, but I want one

Optispark...Which is best? With my luck mine will fail soon.

IN dash CD/naivigaion/dvd...cause I like watching movies, getting directions and driving...ALL at the same time!

white faced gauges...cause they look bad *** and I like bad ***

angel eye headlights and fogligts- can't see much at night with the stockers. Which are best?

98+ taillights- The more I see the lt1 taillights the more I like them, but the beehives are soo cool.

Racing seats with harnesses- gotta stay strapped

Ws6 ram air hood with badges- Call me a poser, but Lt1 ws6s look so clean.

New rims- havent decided on which ones yet.

Wide sticky tires!- looks soo cool

Ceta mod- Have a friend who can paint!

Better brakes- kinda a suspension bolton, but deserves its own category.

LE head and cam package- Good deal, good performance.

Procharger- always wanted a turbo, but the supercharger I have heard is a slightly better cruiser and more compatible with existing mods.

Black headliner/carpet and custom mats- black is the new black

Some sorta stereo system...nothing outrageous though.

Ported to 58mm throttle body/intake- LE can do it.

Meth injection- cause I don't do drugs

Race gas- can't have any detonation now can we!

Some kinda ignition setup...no idea what.

Stroker kit...always looking to add inches.

seafoam car/tune ups(fuel filter, air filter, oil filter blablabla)- self explanatory

locking gas cap- cause sugar is not your friend

window tint- Birthday present! should I stay legal?

High flow cats-if exhaust is too loud. impossible, right?

drag slicks- more traction = less chance of going into wall.

fix/reenforce ebrake...maybe even get a new handle.

custom shift boot.

gauge pillar- looks so high performance and cool

gauges(boost, fuel, oil temp etc.)- good to keep track

racing pedals...why not?

carbon fiber dash pieces...less weight...even though it doesn't matter

battery relocator- no idea why i need it, but i want it.

lightweight battery-cause I like to watch my weight.

car cover...or does this just spur vandals on??

custom security sysyem- better safe than...

another keyless entry thingy...yea

spare keys- cause I lose everything

fan switch and other meaningless switches as well- cause I am a man and I like playing with things.

cleaning equipment for inside and outside of car- keep it looking sparkly!

Lap top in car with tuning software- cause paul walker had one in the **** and the Furious...errr wait.

sun visor- keeps the sun in its place!

camera mount with video camera- cause you never know when you may need it. for ex: race, accident, or naked biker lady!

skip shift eliminator- cause I want to say I have one in my sig.

Free mods- even the ones I dont need

Built tranny- whatever that means.

flywheel/clutch- cause I will prob need a new one soon

custom licens plate and or frame- be original!

Nitrous kit- even if all i do is purge it! looks so cool. steam some rice!

lightup trans am and firebird on brakes thingy...whatever it is called

racing steering wheel with NOS button...thats right, I said NOS.

roadside emergency kit

tire gauge

pen/notebook - to keep track of my thoughts and fond memories...not. to write down cool idea, get a girls number or accident info etc. (whichever comes first)

gas can

custom horn- or is this too dukes of hazard?

shaved antenna- clean and smooth look

cb radio- make fun of truckers...just kidding, they scare me.

throw up bag- cause I DON't want evidence that you partied hard all over my car.

fuel cleaner- sounds good to me.

bigger fuel injectors- a mustve

lacheret- fun to twirl

beanie/hat- cause everyday turns into a bad hair day...My god, I am turning chick.

comb/brush- stay looking fresh

remote finder keychains- AS SEEN ON TV, but they look handy

custom paint job- one day

blanket- you never know

tire jack-yep

Stay away from race gas. Costs to much. I would also say leaded, but since they make unleaded race gas....

You can get a CRC intake elbow bundled with their air foil for around $80 off eBay. It's sold by CRC on there though. Also, for the O2 extensions, you'll need one 12" and one 24". There's a few different companies that sell the pair that way. I think you can get them for around $30 off eBay. And $30 for the TB bypass is a little more expensive than it's going to cost. Even if you bought one of the pre-assembled kits, it's only $9.

A lot of the things on here are meaningless to ask prices and brands for (i.e. floor mats, badges, etc). As far as the big mods go, do some research. A lot of things need to be in certain orders. The biggest thing I can tell you to do first is to let the car breath. Get your exhaust put on, get your intake put on, and consider putting a new intake manifold in (I'd recommend the F.A.S.T., but it's like 800 bucks, so an LS6 should be sufficient up to around 500-550 hp). Also, I didn't read the whole list, but if you didn't mention headers, throw some headers in their too. All of that needs to be done first before you can start thinking about prochargers and cams and things like that. Some people get lucky and put a cam or procharger in a stock engine and never have a problem, but those guys are bound to have problems down the road. Save your biggest mods for last.

The race gas is only for the far off future when I go to the track or need it for some odd reason...not for regular use. Thanks for the pointers.

I know the list is extreme. I just copied and pasted a bunch of documents I had accumulated over time. I was trying to figure out what the average car has in it and then things I would want too add and from there calculate weight and cost etc etc. Redneck...I have an lt1 so that intake idea is kinda out of the question, but I agree with you on the mods and order.

Tspence. You made me feel better cause I was dreading ordering my LPP headers and ORY for $500(ebay) tomorrow cause that is a BIG chunk of the piggy bank, but now that I know that a lot of things are wayyy cheaper than I thought they would be I feel better...Now I am just looking forward to and in a way not looking forward to installing the headers.

BTW I was only asking prices for the numbered items as those are the major mods that are up first. The rest of the stuff is just that...stuff...Obviously kleenex does not add much power to the wheels, but think of the weight savings of having the lightweight kleenex as opposed to a heavy roll of toilet power. Or am I the only one with toilet paper in my car....guys?...guys? THanks

oh, and Badzee...I hope you find yourself.

Read the entire thing? Folks, we have a winner! I know what you are saying about picking one power adder as that is usually the norm, but a lot of performace cars run nitrous alongside a turbo/supercharger. some guys use a small shot to help them spool and others like it for emergency. i've heard compression ratios differ for the applications, but it is doable...I just love seeing nitrous purge...thing I dont like about nitrous is #1 kids slap it on unprepped engines #2 it seems to get on the long back burner for cynical debate. All over you hear, " YOur car wouldnt be fast if it wasnt for the gas" that rhymes by the way. no one really says that about forced induction. even if i only hit a 25 shot and beat a guy by 5 cars I wouldnt be surprised to hear him make the claim "I would have had you if...." doesnt necessarily bother me...just annoying.

Chace02ws6...i really wish i could, but first I have to buy a Lambo in every color including pink / this is actually more like a wish list and future plans than anything else..only the numbered items up top and a few from the bottom will be going in soon. still, a lot of money for me.

I quick glanced the list and came up with what I would recommend subframe connector, LCA, LCA relocate brackets, torque arm, pan hard bar, some better springs/shocks.
