In the baking process the plastic would melt. I used somthing called Commercial Coatings engine paint. Worked really well. I topped it off with a couple coats of Duplicolor clear.

Re: What paint for valve covers???? I painted mine with red engine paint... just make sure that you scuff the valve covers with sand papper. Then make sure that you wipe all the oil off of it with some thing like laqur thinner. For the first coat on them just dust on the color that way it will prevent the paint from fish eyeing. Then you can put on some thicker coats after that
