Default What paint for valve covers????

What kind of paint should I use for my Valve covers?

I used regular car paint so that it would match the color of my car, PPG on my valve covers and manifold. Seems to be fine.

Haha, you can't powdercoat plastic In the baking process the plastic would melt. I used somthing called Commercial Coatings engine paint. Worked really well. I topped it off with a couple coats of Duplicolor clear.

Just goto pep boys or one of those places and get high temp engine paint. Duplicolor has a list of colors on there website for engine paint.

The valve cover get hot, but not crazy. With the selection of high temp paint colors out there now a days I use that to be safe.

I painted mine with red engine paint... just make sure that you scuff the valve covers with sand papper. Then make sure that you wipe all the oil off of it with some thing like laqur thinner. For the first coat on them just dust on the color that way it will prevent the paint from fish eyeing. Then you can put on some thicker coats after that
