Default Fast 102MM LSX-R Intake Manifold for L92 heads at SEMA

Well FAST released the 102mm LSX-R intake manifold at the sema show....they have ported for both the l92 and the cathedral port....

There guy at the SEMA booth (who didnt seem to alot on details I was asking about) told me it was good for approx 15-20 horsepower over the L-76 intake.

It will take a 90/92mm throttle body as well....

they said its ready for January

I had the same experience at the Comp booth. Light on info regarding the new intakes...........
Likes:
1) It fits L92 heads!!
2) Interchangeable(?) runners bolt in place (modular design).
3) Front facing ttb and low hoodline clearance.
4) Accomodates a 102mm ttb.
5) It fit's L92 heads!!

Dislike:
1) Display runners looked entirely too long for most performance applications. Hopefully shorter runners are going to be available for rpm tuning.

Here's some pics I took:

Lot's of potential FAST! Nice work!

$997.00 plus for a intake with a gain of maybe 18 HP. They can keep it

If it has bolt in runners, couldn't you modify them to be shorter for a specific application? Looks like a very nice piece.

15-20 hp over the stock intake? is it 15 or is it 20?
How much over a well ported stock intake?
Could wind up being only 10 hp over a ported stock piece.
Then again you can port the FAST but still, I don't know.
$1000!! we need some answers.

Nice. It looks like MAP relocation will be mandatory. I like the modular runners although the mounting bosses may be a problem if they are shortened more than a couple of inches. That will also make it more difficult to port. I also like the lack of runner protrusion for the fuel rail crossover. Looks like aftermarket fuel rails are also needed. Very interesting, I can't wait to see more. Looks like the vaporware Weiand may be dead in the water.

Looks like a nice piece. I'll wait and see how they perform on the dyno before I shell out a grand for it.

Their always one who's is not happy-

what item is cheap from fast?

do u think that fast has tested every l92 headd combo yet

do u think fast has tested every l92 engine with some decent comp ratio

do u think fast has tested every l92 camshaft combo-

wake up-

they always give u a little gain- some people get more and some dont

this is what i know

the fast 90 works for me

the fast 92 will work for me

u know what the funny thing is-we are saying fast is not a bang for buck intake- i will give u that-

but weiand cant even get their intake on the shelf-

and if it does come out-i wonder what fast will bring out- a intake for ls7??

fast seems to be 2-3 steps ahead-hence why u pay a bit more for it-

My thoughts exactly. I'd really like to see some runners down around 8 inches. The L92/LS3 heads with the right cam make great low and mid range power. I'd like a manifold that will feed the higher RPM better - even for street use.

I like the fact that it's for cathedral port applications also. I look forward to hearing more about these as information comes out.

We sure do need some educated answers. $1000 for a intake with these gains is kind of steep. I bet their quoted HP numbers were with a tune. So add a few hundred dollars more to the price for that gain
