Default Stock PCM past 7K RPM

What will happen if you rev the stock PCM past 7k? Will it cut off? Will it keep going? Will it take me back to 1985?

i think thats the point when the opti disinigrates and coils start growing on the valve covers, as that is happening your block will turn aluminum and you will loose 4 cubic inches of displacement, and your heads develop cathedral ports and directly in front of your face your intake manifold will turn into plastic. my haynes manual says do it at your own risk

Most people who are pushing this hard go carb or after market ECU.

I am one of the few shifting at 7,000-7,100 on a stock ECM so I experiance it three times a pass

The man who has dug into it the most is Ed Write. Some boxes will go as high as 7,200. never could find WHY the box does it but it just stops adding enough fuel once it goes off the tables. Some people reported the engine would shut off all together until there was a hard reboot(key off).

Does it suck? OH yeah. If i had anouther 1,000rpm I would have more power

I am one season away from the after market at this point. Trying to get the most out of 360+Cfm by 7,000 is not going to be easy..
