Wheels & Tires - tire question

Got 18x9.5 inch rims, so I'm looking at either 275x35x18 or 285x35x18. I'm going to get more into road rally, auto-x, etc. But the Camaro is a DD during the nice months. What tire is recommended (size, brand,etc.). I've got 285x30x18 Pirelli's on the back right now, but they seem a hair big for the 9.5's. I need a street tire that will be sticky on the turns, but one that I can still use for long drives. Here's the hitch, I can only round up about $900 for tires, gotta get the best 4 tires I can for what I've got.

lol, 47 views. Is it because of the V6? Or is there a write up that I couldn't find? Or perhaps I should post in the road race section. Seems like every write-up I've found has been about slicks or DR's.

I;m very happy with my KDW2s. I havnt gotten into road racing or Auto-X. (I'd love to but i dont know how). But they seem to be wearing very well and the wet traction is great.

That was one concern of mine, how long to they last. I'd like to get some more input before I make an investment of this amount.
