Default I am bored with my LT1... Give me some opinions!

Now that the car is painted and everything is how I want it, (minus the transmission) I have become bored with it. I don't know what I want to do next... I still need to hook up the HSW kit and put the LE ported intake on, but thats only going to take me so far.

I was thinking about doing some AI heads next month with a single plane conversion but I don't know if the LT1 is worth it. I know the car is going to be damn fast on gas because it's been doing great on motor since I got the shifts squared away... It will go 7.6's easy with sticky tires on the stock suspension.

I was kind of thinking about parting out the LT1 or selling it whole and buying a 6.0 or 6.2 pull out and putting that in the car backed by a 3-speed automatic. Of course I freshen it up and possibly throw some forged slugs in there along with a good set of rings and spray it...

What do yall think? I don't want to sell the car but I am bored with the LT1... I also have a 48k mile LS1 long block that has a knock sitting out back.

But I am completely bored with it and I would have to throw some heads on the car and still be dissatisfied... I could probably go faster with a 6.0, small cam and some spray.

Anyone have any thoughts on my next move? AI heads and a single plane or a build a new motor?

I say keep the lt1 and stroke it if you want big cubes. Putting a lsx style motor in your car will be a giant headache since you will have to change engine harness/computer etc. and still making everything work in the car. The lt1 is a very capable motor most people just give up on it before they should and jump on the lsx bandwagon. Stroker motor built for a 200 s with a 3 speed would be a very potent setup and overall less of a headache. If you want a lt1 sell the car and buy a ls1 with a blown motor or something if you want to use the one you have.

An LS swap is not that big of a headache when you get in there and actually see everything. Everything lines up and bolts in, a headache is when nothing fit's at all..

Right now the car is a 355 thats build for a 200+ shot with stock heads and intake. I think I might throw my LE ported intake with a bigger TB on the car and swap in a th-350 since I just blew up my build trans and shoot it. If I see some good results I will consider keeping the LT1 and doing a head/SP Intake swap. The car already run's 7's with a 306 cam and basic bolt-on's on street tires.

I have all the knowledge and the means of doing a swap with little to no issues, thats why I was thinking about it.

well a 355 with worked heads/ported stock intake, 306, th350 and a 200(I think) shot has already been in the 9s so you should be able to at least get close to that. You already have a good base setup so I would just build from that. Not to mention it always fun to see the ls1ers faces when they just got smacked by a lt1..lol.

Stick with the LT1, i say if you have the money, stroke it, shoot for 400+ cubes, get some good heads/cam/intake on it, i'll garauntee you'll be in the 6s with no nitrous if its tuned right, it'l be very streetable, sure the LS1 is good also, but do you think a bolt-on (even with a mild cam) LS1 with run faster then a 400+ LT1 with good heads/cam ect., i don't think so, with nitrous yes, motor vs. motor no, then you can put nitrous on your stroked LT1, then see how boreing it is, if you just drop in a cammed LS1, how long do you think it'll take before you get bored with it, i say if you have the funds, stroke that puppy & build a killer LT1.

Stroked 400+ci LSX alot easier to do, and alot more street friendly and durable than the LT1.
