Default What wieght of oil

I know this has probably been asked before but I couldn't find it. My car has almost 130K miles on it and I'm runing castrol 10w-40. Is this the right weight of oil for a car with this many miles or should I be running something differerent?

Thanks,
T-Pat

You haven't told us anything about your climate yet, which makes a healthy difference in which weight oil you should be running. Where are you?

Up north 0w30.

down south 5w30, 10w30

Really though, 5w30 is the manufacturers recommended oil for the widest temp range. 10-30 if you don't expect to ever see below 0.F

I live in southwest Missouri, so I see a little bit of everything here. Snow, ice, rain, sun, cold, and hot....
